1Password has launched 1Password for Agents, a sign-in platform for personal AI agents. Agents from Meta, Anthropic, OpenAI, and SpaceX's Grok Bot can log into user accounts without ever seeing the password. The product targets the common practice of pasting passwords into agent chats when agents pay bills or plan travel. Under the new flow, a unique digital key identifies the agent to 1Password at a login page; the user is told which account is requested and for what purpose and must approve on their own device. 1Password then types the password into the page itself. OpenAI has connected ChatGPT Work and Dots agents; Meta’s Muse requests logins when the integration is on; Town.com has signed up; Grok Bot can sign in without pasted passwords. Claude has used 1Password in the browser since July; Claude Duet is expected to use it soon for approved sign-ins. Nine more companies, including Perplexity and Browserbase, are building integrations.
