Aurelian has raised $14 million in Series A funding to deploy its AI voice assistant in 911 call centers, addressing the chronic understaffing issue in the sector. By triaging non-emergency calls—including noise complaints and parking violations—the AI alleviates pressure on human operators. Co-founder Max Keenan emphasized the importance of giving dispatchers necessary breaks, noting that their roles often entail excessive overtime. Aurelian's technology is currently used in over a dozen U.S. dispatch centers.
