Accenture and Amazon Web Services have signed a six-year agreement to help businesses and governments across the Middle East speed up their move to cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The deal focuses on modernising older technology systems, shifting critical workloads to the cloud, and rolling out AI in sectors such as energy, financial services and government. Accenture will create a dedicated regional team of architects and delivery specialists. Customers will also get support through AWS’s Migration Acceleration Programme. The move comes as Gulf countries invest heavily in data centres and computing power. Saudi Arabia’s operational data centre capacity has grown from 68MW in 2021 to more than 467MW in early 2025. AWS plans to launch its first cloud region in the kingdom in December with more than $5.3 billion in planned investment.
