Amazon has commenced an “enterprise preview” of its newly branded satellite service, Amazon Leo, aimed at competing with SpaceX’s Starlink. Select businesses can now test Leo’s hardware and software, allowing Amazon to gather feedback for a broader launch. The service is backed by a constellation of 3,236 low Earth satellites. It promises impressive download speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second, leveraging a custom silicon chip in its Ultra model.
