Amazon has unveiled Nova Act, a new AI agent capable of autonomously performing web browser tasks, alongside a developer SDK for building agent prototypes. Developed by Amazon's San Francisco AGI lab, Nova Act will power key features in the upcoming Alexa+ upgrade. The system outperforms competitors on internal tests, scoring 94% on the ScreenSpot Web Text benchmark. Led by former OpenAI researchers David Luan and Pieter Abbeel, Nova Act aims to reliably automate simple tasks like online ordering and calendar management while allowing human oversight.
