Anthropic announced that Indian organisations will soon be able to process Claude AI requests entirely within the country through Amazon Bedrock's in-country inference capability. Scheduled to roll out in the coming weeks, the feature will route requests through AWS infrastructure located in India, allowing sensitive information to remain inside national borders. Anthropic said local processing has been one of the most requested capabilities from Indian enterprises. The offering is designed for highly regulated sectors including banking, insurance, telecommunications and government, where data residency requirements have slowed AI adoption. Anthropic India Managing Director Irina Ghose described the launch as a turning point for moving frontier AI from pilot projects into production systems. AWS India President Sandeep Dutta said customers can deploy Claude using the same trusted infrastructure already supporting critical workloads.
