Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, a proactive AI agent aimed at professionals and small businesses. Built around Opus 5.5, it is available as a research preview via a waitlist for U.S. Pro and Max subscribers on a separate iOS and Android app and on claude.ai. Duet delivers a morning briefing from connected apps, checks them periodically for items needing attention, and can run tasks such as investigating unpaid invoices, drafting follow-ups, building forecasts, and creating web apps. Work continues in a remote virtual machine with a browser after the user closes their device. It can use more than 6,000 Claude Marketplace connectors, including QuickBooks, Stripe, HubSpot, Docusign, Gusto, LinkedIn, Canva, and Shopify, and supports purchases via Stripe Link and Shop Pay with user authorization. Sensitive actions require approval; securities trades and account transfers are blocked. Duet shares existing Claude usage limits; background checks consume allowance.
