ArcelorMittal has chosen Microsoft Azure as its primary cloud platform as part of a broader AI-first transformation strategy. Announced under a Cloud First, Data Centric initiative, the partnership will make Azure the default platform for the company's enterprise applications and data while expanding its use of Microsoft Fabric for data integration, Microsoft Purview for governance and Microsoft Foundry for developing AI models and agents. Operating steel production facilities in 14 countries with a presence in around 60 markets, ArcelorMittal aims to modernise decades of industrial systems and unlock AI-driven operational improvements. The companies did not disclose financial terms, migration timelines or the number of sites moving to Azure. ArcelorMittal will continue working with Amazon Web Services on selected industrial automation projects, making Azure its primary rather than exclusive cloud provider.
