The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft Australia and Microsoft Corp, claiming they misled approximately 2.7 million customers about subscription prices for Microsoft 365 following the integration of the AI tool Copilot. Starting October 2024, prices for personal plans rose by 45% to A$159, and family plans increased by 29% to A$179. The ACCC is seeking penalties, stating breaches could incur fines exceeding A$50 million.
