Brazil's antitrust agency, CADE, has initiated an inquiry into Microsoft following Opera's complaint about the default Edge browser pre-installed on Windows devices. Opera argues this practice hampers competition, giving Edge, which claims 11.52% of Brazil's desktop market, an unfair edge over rivals, notably Google Chrome's 75% and Opera's 6.78%. CADE's investigation will encompass Microsoft's Windows licenses, Microsoft 365, and the Jumpstart AI program, with a response due by August 15.
