OpenAI has removed a feature enabling ChatGPT conversations to be searchable on Google due to privacy concerns. The option, initially designed to improve content discovery, inadvertently exposed personal chats. Chief Information Security Officer Dane Stuckey stated, "The feature has led people into situations where they unintentionally shared what they should not." Reports indicate around 4,500 chats, some containing sensitive data, were publicly accessible, prompting the urgent need for privacy safeguards.
