OpenAI is making ChatGPT far more visual with a new feature called Intelligent UI. The interface is rolling out with the GPT-6 model and will place interactive elements directly into conversations. Instead of static images, responses can include tappable buttons, task-specific calculators, interactive charts, editable graphs, and other components users can manipulate. OpenAI says the aim is to make learning complex topics easier. In demonstrations, the chatbot generated diagrams explaining how an airplane wing produces lift, visuals for recipes, a bicycle-mechanics diagram, a multi-day hiking map, and a personal savings calculator. Users who prefer fewer visuals can dial them back, similar to other ChatGPT personality controls. Intelligent UI is available globally for Pro, Plus, Business, and Enterprise users starting Wednesday. The company notes that ChatGPT has largely been text-based until now and that the most helpful answers are often more than text alone.
