A new technological initiative in China, specifically the launch of the world's first commercial underwater data center located in Lingshui, Hainan. This project, managed by Shenzhen HiCloud Data Centre Technology, involves housing servers within a 1,300-ton data cabin situated 35 meters below the surface. A key feature of this facility is its utilization of seawater for cooling, which is expected to result in lower energy consumption compared to traditional data centers on land.
