According to SEMI, China will sustain its position as the largest global buyer of semiconductor manufacturing equipment through 2027, driven by local chipmakers' capacity expansions amid government initiatives for tech self-sufficiency. While investments in both mature-node and advanced processes are expected to continue, SEMI predicts a gradual decline in equipment sales starting in 2026. Taiwan and South Korea are projected to follow in second and third place, bolstered by AI demand and advanced memory chip projects, respectively.
