Electreon, the global wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging innovator, has been chosen by SAE International's Wireless Power Transfer & Alignment Taskforce, along with MAHLE's Differential Inductive Positioning System (DIPS), for the global SAE J2954 standard. As electric vehicle adoption grows, relying solely on plug-in charging falls short, and Electreon's wireless charging, with its standardized alignment methodology, promises a seamless and automated charging experience. The DIPS technology facilitates precise alignment for charging using a magnetic field between the in-road charging coil and the vehicle receiver. The updated SAE J2954 standard, set for publication in 2024, addresses key aspects like fine alignment, pairing/authentication, and alignment checks, removing barriers to scalable wireless EV charging. Electreon's operational projects across several countries showcase its commitment to advancing wireless charging solutions.
