Europe now has a huge AI gap, for better or for worse

With effect from August 1, the EU's AI Act establishes severe guidelines for AI, classifying applications according to risk and placing strong limitations on high-risk systems. In contrast, the United States has non-binding AI safeguards. Because of these legislative worries, tech companies such as Apple are postponing the implementation of AI features in Europe, maybe until 2025. This gap may cause the tech offerings in the US and Europe to differ significantly.
