SAP has agreed to adaptations in its on-premise maintenance and support practices following dialogue with the European Commission. The updated policies apply to all current and future SAP customers worldwide for on-premise products. Customers gain greater choice in organizing their system landscape into separate commercial installations with different support levels or no support. SAP is offering more flexibility to terminate licenses in cases like severe workforce reductions, bankruptcy, divestiture or implementation failure. Access to single-metric contracts is expanded for more transparent and predictable cost management. Contract terms are clarified for better predictability. Terms for returning customers are improved with no administrative fees and limited back-maintenance fees. These changes were developed with input from customer groups like DSAG and maintain business continuity reliability and scale. Cloud offerings remain unaffected.
