Google is currently in a tight competition with Apple, Meta, Microsoft, and others around AI. In the past few months, the California-based giant has been busy in launching new features and products like Search Generative Experience (SGE) its AI-powered search feature, AI chatbot Bard and more to keep up its lead over rivals. Now as Google products are getting the AI makeover, the new service that is getting AI superpowers is Google Maps. Google is enhancing Google Maps with AI-driven features, including Immersive View for select cities, Google Lens integration, detailed map updates, EV charging station information, and AI-powered visual search. Immersive View offers 3D previews of locations, Lens in Maps overlays info on your screen using AR, more detailed maps with realistic visuals are coming, and EV info helps drivers find suitable charging stations. Additionally, a visual search feature is introduced.
