Google has agreed to a $30 million settlement regarding a lawsuit alleging the company violated children's privacy on YouTube. Parents of 34 children claimed Google collected personal data without parental consent to serve targeted ads. The proposed settlement, pending US Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen's approval, could benefit 35 to 45 million children who watched YouTube from July 2013 to April 2020, allowing potential claims of $30 to $60 per family.
