Google DeepMind has unveiled its Gemini Robotics On-Device, enabling robots to operate independently of internet connectivity. According to Carolina Parada, head of robotics, this model enhances autonomy and data privacy, crucial for low-connectivity environments. The AI can learn tasks quickly, requiring just 50 to 100 demonstrations. While this model lacks cloud-based safety features, it represents a significant shift toward decentralized AI, potentially transforming sectors like healthcare and industrial automation.
