Google's latest TPU chip, Ironwood, delivers groundbreaking performance with 42.5 exaflops of computing power when scaled to 9,216 chips per pod, significantly outperforming El Capitan's 1.7 exaflops. Each chip features 192GB of High Bandwidth Memory and 7.2 terabits per second bandwidth, marking a 6x and 4.5x improvement over its predecessor Trillium, respectively. The chip doubles performance per watt compared to Trillium and achieves 30x better power efficiency than Google's 2018 Cloud TPU, addressing crucial data center power constraints.
