Google's Project Green Light optimises traffic light timing in cities across the globe by utilising AI and data from Google Maps. Reduced stop-and-go emissions near junctions, where pollution levels can be noticeably higher, is the initiative's main goal. With over 70 crossings now using it, preliminary findings indicate that it may be possible to reduce stops by up to 30% and emissions by up to 10%. In the upcoming years, the project intends to spread to hundreds of cities.
