Huawei Technologies has unveiled plans to launch the world's most powerful AI computing clusters, the Atlas 950 and 960 superpods, by late 2026 and 2027, respectively. Despite relying on less powerful domestic chips amidst U.S. restrictions, Huawei aims to connect dozens of these superpods into “SuperClusters” to meet the increasing demand for AI computing power. According to Eric Xu, Huawei's rotating chairman, this strategy emphasizes self-reliance and resilience in technology development.
