Huawei Technologies is expanding its influence in China’s robotics industry, aligning with the nation's ambition to lead globally in robotics. The company recently invested 3 billion yuan (US$413 million) into its subsidiary, Dongguan Jimu Machinery, sparking speculation about its move into robotics. Huawei has also launched an Embodied AI Innovation Centre in Shenzhen to integrate AI into robotics and foster industry partnerships. Amid increasing domestic smartphone sales, Huawei's revenue surged by 29.5% in the first nine months of 2024, reaching 585.9 billion yuan.
