Efficient financial transactions are crucial for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), with ad hoc payments constituting nearly two-thirds of their monthly revenue, according to PYMNTS Intelligence. The study, conducted in collaboration with Ingo Money, indicates that businesses value free instant payments, as two-thirds are willing to continue transactions with companies offering this service. The report identifies cash flow management as the primary motivator for SMBs to adopt instant payments, citing delayed payments as a significant challenge. Legacy payment methods with delays can hinder financial assessments, making real-time payments a valuable solution for improving daily cash flow. However, widespread adoption depends on banks' readiness to implement faster payment solutions, with FinTechs playing a role in educating and facilitating the transition for SMBs.
