Reliance Jio demonstrated AI-powered smart glasses at the India Mobile Congress 2026 in Delhi that can scan UPI QR codes with a built-in camera and complete payments via voice commands after user confirmation. Transactions follow UPI Circle rules, with limits of ₹5,000 per payment and ₹15,000 per month. The glasses also support real-time translation across 12 languages and AI note-taking for meetings and live cricket commentary. These features aim to reduce reliance on smartphones for everyday tasks while working, travelling, or watching sports. Jio plans two variants: camera-equipped premium JioFrames and voice-only Jio Glasses, both running on JioReality OS. The devices are expected to reach stores by late 2026 or early 2027, subject to company plans, and will compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban AI glasses and Samsung’s upcoming XR products in the growing smart-wearables market.
