Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup that enables software engineers to manage multiple coding agents working in parallel on isolated copies of a codebase. The deal was first reported by Axios and confirmed by both companies. Conductor, founded in 2024 by CEO Charlie Holtz and CTO Jackson de Campos, launched its core product last year. Its platform deploys agents from labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI rather than building its own models. Users can run the agents in the cloud, locally, or from a phone. Financial terms were not disclosed. Conductor Cloud will become read-only on November 13 and shut down on November 20, after which user data will be deleted. The local app will continue receiving updates until early 2027. Holtz said the team has plans for a new interface next year and looks forward to working with Meta’s Superintelligence Labs.
