Social media giant Meta has chalked out a detailed plan to strengthen the growth of MSME businesses across India by helping them find loan partners and introducing Meta-verified businesses. According to Meta, half of the world’s population uses its services, and millions have benefited from businesses. “Over the years, we have been at the forefront of supporting the growth of small businesses by creating products, solutions, and programs that address their unique needs. Gujarat has a deep entrepreneurial spirit, and we’re seeing strong momentum in how businesses are using WhatsApp to power their growth journey,” said Vikas Purohit, Director and Head of Small Business Group at Meta, on Wednesday. As per the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Annual Report 2022–23, Gujarat has 33.16 lakh MSMEs employing over 61 lakh people. A large number of people are using social media handles like Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp to establish their businesses.
