Meta Platforms is partnering with chip tech provider Arm Holdings to power personalization systems in its apps, including Facebook and Instagram. The deal will use Arm-based data center platforms for AI ranking and recommendation systems. This deal is a major validation of Arm's technology, as it competes with the x86 architecture used by Intel and AMD. Meta plans to invest $1.5 billion in a Texas data center and adapt its AI infrastructure software for Arm architectures, making the software improvements open-source.
