Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) on Main Street, having weathered pandemic challenges, are now focused on stabilizing their finances amid inflation. A survey of two companies that collaborate reveals that 48% of these enterprises plan to increase their reliance on financing in the next year. Those with business credit access intend to boost credit usage, with an expected average increase of 72%. Large national banks, including Bank of America and JPMorgan, are the preferred source for credit, chosen by one-third of Main Street SMBs, surpassing online lenders, credit unions, and regional banks. The report highlights the importance of credit access for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs)' growth and viability, suggesting that lenders can build trust with Main Street businesses, as nearly half of these businesses plan to increase their reliance on credit in the future.
