One in five small business owners are suffering due to trade uncertainties, CFIB says

Tariff Uncertainties: Impact on U.S.-Canada SMEs

According to a CFIB report, 18% of SMEs are experiencing cancelled or paused orders due to ongoing U.S.-Canada tariff uncertainties; this rises to 34% among exporters. A majority (54%) of SMEs feel unprepared for tariff impacts. Many firms may change business models and find new markets, but it’ll take some time. The CFIB is calling for Parliament to immediately reconvene to help small businesses. About one in five businesses can survive less than three months without support if tariffs hit.
