OpenAI is updating ChatGPT, its viral chatbot, to include voice conversations and image interactions, bringing it closer to popular AI assistants like Siri. This voice feature has diverse applications, including creative and accessibility-focused uses. Similar to Siri and Alexa, ChatGPT can set alarms, deliver information, narrate bedtime stories, and more. Spotify is already using the technology to translate podcast content. Additionally, users can interact with images, allowing troubleshooting, meal planning, and data analysis. With images support, users can take pictures of things around them and ask the chatbot to "troubleshoot why your grill won't start, explore the contents of your fridge to plan a meal, or analyze a complex graph for work-related data". These features will roll out to Plus and Enterprise plan subscribers over the next two weeks, marking a significant step in AI chatbot capabilities.
