Hyperscalers are increasingly taking control of AI-related infrastructure, notably due to the overloaded power grid. Emerging small modular reactors (SMRs), which generate 300 MWe or less, provide a promising solution. The first SMR in Europe is planned for Nottinghamshire, England, while multiple projects are underway across the U.S. Building data centers near these new power supplies will require significant time and investment, yet the substantial AI ambitions of major tech firms indicate sustained future demand.
