Protecting Your Business From Cyber Attacks

Cybercrime is on the rise globally, with over 2,200 daily cyber attacks in the US and an average cost of $9.4 million per data breach. In 2022, cybercrimes caused $6 trillion in damages, projected to increase to $8 trillion by 2023 and $10.5 trillion by 2025. Small businesses are particularly vulnerable, accounting for 43% of cyber attacks and suffering average losses of $25,000. The shift to remote work has complicated security, and human error remains a significant threat. The key challenge in cybersecurity is staying ahead of evolving threats, as technology must react to cyberattacks. Businesses can mitigate risks by implementing backend protections like email filtering, antivirus, and web filtering. User training is crucial, but having an IT specialist to stay updated on threats and advise on policies and best practices is essential.
