The experiment lets users choose between reading a post or watching and listening to an AI-generated version. The video format combines the original post with selected comments, while AI voices read the conversation aloud and text is highlighted as it is spoken. Reddit says the new formats will not replace the original posts. Users can still read the full discussion and interact with comments as before. The initial test is running in selected communities and is designed to help Reddit learn which formats users prefer and which types of posts could work well in audio or video.
