The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded Salesforce a contract worth up to $1.6 billion. The deal is an Agentic Enterprise License Agreement. It runs one year with two optional one-year renewals. Salesforce announced it on July 24. The company will expand AI tools already in use at the VA. Agentforce Public Sector and Agentforce Health will power a 24/7 virtual contact center. AI agents will handle patient triage, intake, care coordination, and benefits checks. They will pull real-time information during live calls and route cases. The goal is to cut average appointment scheduling time from 28 days down to minutes. That covers more than 40,000 provider services. Slack already runs in over 150 VA medical and outpatient centers. MuleSoft, Data 360, and Tableau will link older systems into one data layer. Dashboards will track claims and staff performance. The aim is less time on admin work so VA employees can focus on veterans.
