Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, a defense technology company that builds AI-powered software for military logistics and sustainment. Rune’s tools help troops forecast supply needs, plan resource use, and decide where to send equipment, including in places with little or no network connection. The U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps already use the technology. The deal expands Salesforce’s Missionforce business, which serves the U.S. military and government agencies. One year after launch, that unit is growing 80 percent year over year and has customers across all six branches of the U.S. military. Salesforce also holds a 10-year U.S. Army contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027. Rune was founded in 2024 by former Anduril executives.
