SAP announced a series of AI updates at its TechEd conference aimed at helping developers and business users build agents that turn intent into autonomous execution. Enhancements to Joule Studio, Joule Work, and the SAP Business AI Platform add no-code and pro-code tools for creating and extending agents, access to more than 70 models, and stronger business context from SAP Business Data Cloud and the Knowledge Graph. New agentic thinking capabilities help plan and coordinate multistep workflows across SAP systems using open protocols such as Agent2Agent and Model Context Protocol. An Enterprise AI Gateway centralizes authentication, policy, routing, monitoring, and auditing, while an AI Governance Assistant supports EU AI Act compliance. Observability controls track agent behavior and spend, and selected customers can run custom agents on managed infrastructure free until December 2026.
