As the prevalence of digital attacks on small businesses reaches 44%, cybersecurity emerges as a paramount concern for entrepreneurs. A survey conducted by McAfee in collaboration with Dell Technologies involving 700 business leaders and IT professionals across six countries, including the U.S., reveals that 44% of small businesses have encountered at least one digital attack, with 17% facing two or more. The majority of incidents (67%) occurred within the past two years, indicating a rising trend in cybersecurity threats for small businesses. The consequences of digital attacks are particularly severe for startups, with 61% of victims losing over $10,000, and 58% reporting a productivity loss of more than a week. Small business owners dedicate 7 hours weekly to IT, but 70% attribute security breaches to outdated technology.
