Truecaller has developed a function that detects AI fraud calls, allowing consumers to determine whether they are chatting with a human or an AI bot. Users can enable this feature by pressing a button to record and analyse the caller's voice. Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi emphasises the growing risk of AI speech scams and sees this feature as an extension of their scam-fighting capabilities. Currently, it is only accessible on Android, with an iOS version in the works.
