A new BambooHR study finds that 67 percent of HR professionals would trust AI to conduct a job interview on its own. The survey of more than 500 HR leaders shows AI moving beyond CV screening and assessments into direct candidate-facing roles. Seventy-six percent of HR professionals described themselves as confident everyday AI users, compared with only 50 percent of employees. Ninety-two percent said they are already piloting or planning AI agents across the employee lifecycle, from screening to retention monitoring. At the same time, eight in ten reported finding bias or other problems in the AI systems they use. Thirty-six percent said AI favoured résumés and cover letters written by the same model, and 33 percent noticed demographic bias patterns. BambooHR’s Nicole Csizar said AI can free recruiters for better conversations but should support rather than replace human interviewers.
