The United States could fall short of the demand for skilled workers, according to a report by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA). The industry currently employs 345,000 workers and is expected to add 115,000 more by 2030. The report notes that the U.S. semiconductor industry requires highly educated engineers and scientists to drive innovation in semiconductor technology, as well as skilled technicians.
