YouTube will stream the Oscars exclusively starting in 2029, marking a significant shift in the event's broadcast landscape, previously hosted by ABC since 1961. The deal, announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, allows YouTube to air the 101st Oscars and other Academy content through 2033, reaching over 2 billion viewers globally. Academy CEO Bill Kramer stated, “This partnership will expand access to our work for the largest audience possible,” reflecting YouTube's growing dominance in live streaming.
