The Indian government's various ministries and departments have approved over 10,000 claims under the Vivad se Vishwas – I scheme, aimed at alleviating challenges faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. This initiative has disbursed over Rs 256 crore to MSMEs, freeing up guarantees and facilitating increased bank credit flow. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas led in granting relief with Rs 116.47 crore, followed by the Ministry of Railways with Rs 79.16 crore. In April 2023, a new scheme was launched to provide relief to MSMEs. The scheme offers a refund that covers 95% of performance security, bid security, and liquidated damages that have been deducted. It also aims to comfort MSMEs facing debarment due to contract execution defaults. The scheme has been introduced to support the resilience of the MSME sector and contribute to the economy's growth.
