Adobe adds ‘Generative AI’ tech to Photoshop for Web

Adobe has officially launched Photoshop for the web after a year of beta testing. This web-based version of the popular photo editing software incorporates generative artificial intelligence (AI) and is Adobe's first program deeply integrated with AI. It can be used in any web browser without the need for downloads or installations, available as part of paid Photoshop plans starting at $9.99 per month. Free seven-day trials are also offered. Photoshop for the web utilizes generative AI, including Adobe's product called Adobe Firefly. It features AI-powered tools like "Generative Fill" and "Generative Expand" that allow users to manipulate images using text prompts. Other AI-driven features include the "Contextual Task Bar" for workflow suggestions. Adobe continues to leverage AI to enhance its creative tools, streamlining the user experience and expanding AI's role in content creation.
