German startup SWARM Robotics has unveiled a bioelectronic "cyborg" cockroach designed for reconnaissance in high-risk areas inaccessible to troops and drones. These living insects are equipped with AI hardware, radios, and sensors like cameras, enabling them to relay real-time intel from debris and tunnels. CEO Stefan Wilhelm states, “We’re entering a decade where access, autonomy, and resilience define geopolitical advantage,” highlighting a shift towards biointelligent systems in modern warfare.
