Apple is upgrading its native Shortcuts app with AI capabilities to improve task automation across macOS, and iOS, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. This update, envisaged for a 2025 rollout but possibly delayed until 2026, allows natural language automation commands. However, the upgraded Shortcuts won't be showcased at WWDC 2025, with Apple focusing on macOS 26 Tahoe and other updates. An adoption of open automation standards like Anthropic's MCP could further expand Shortcuts.
