Amazon Web Services (AWS) announces a substantial $50 billion investment to develop high-performance AI computing infrastructure for U.S. government agencies. This initiative, expected to break ground in 2026, will boost access to AWS services such as Amazon SageMaker and Anthropic's Claude chatbot, adding 1.3 gigawatts of computing power. AWS CEO Matt Garman stated that the investment will revolutionize supercomputing in federal agencies, improving efficiency in critical missions like cybersecurity and drug discovery.
