Amazon Web Services has launched Kiro bots as a generally available feature inside its Kiro Crew development workspace. The persistent agents can oversee recurring responsibilities, coordinate other agents, and retain decisions developers make over time. Each bot has a name, an ongoing conversation, its own notes, and a dedicated workspace. A bot can launch multiple worker sessions, track progress, correct deviations, and consolidate results. It can request a human decision when needed while continuing independent tasks. Developers can schedule work conversationally, such as overnight build checks or weekly summaries. Memory, permissions, and model choice are assigned per bot, so context stays isolated. Example roles include monitoring failed builds, reviewing code changes, and preparing releases. The bots can run on a laptop, Mac Mini, or Amazon EC2 instance and compete with similar recurring-agent features from Cursor, Anthropic, and OpenAI.
