He asserts that a small group of users, including founding entities, bots, exploiters, and airdrop hunters, can generate up to 80% of blockchain activity, making the ecosystem appear healthier than it is. This is because one person can control multiple wallet addresses, creating the illusion of many users. While some users have valid reasons for multiple addresses, like privacy or trading strategies, others exploit this for malicious purposes, such as inflating user numbers to deceive investors or gaming token airdrops. Torres highlights that creating and managing multiple crypto wallets is relatively easy, making it important to scrutinize active user counts in the crypto space.
